Launched Of R4 DSi and DSi XL R4 Card Storage Devices
Different brands of R4 DS Card differ in their support for homebrew, support for DS and Game Boy Advance ROMs, special features, such as playing media files, physical size and cost. Strictly speaking, a storage device is not necessary for DS with FlashMe installed because homebrew can be sent to the DSi using WMB. However, this is not a very portable method because the DSi needs to be within range of a suitable Wi-Fi card.
Below is a list of Flash Cards that have been tested and known to work on the DSi and DSi XL.
DSTT & DSTTi.
DSTT is a very popular card compatible with SDHC cards.
The most common problem with a legit DSTT card is the infamous "Menu?" screen, much like the dreaded R4 "Loading" screen, which is usually a software issue and can be easily fixed by installing the software from the DSTT website onto your micro SD card. Although the OS (menu) files must be present in the root of the SD card, the software is intelligent in that the ROMs may be placed anywhere on the flash card will still be found. The DSTT also exists in a version compatible with the recently released Nintendo DSi which is called the DSTTi.
The DSTT and DSTTi are versatile beyond simply playing homebrew and ROM software though, one of the most useful features being that they incorporate cheat support in a variety of games.
The DSTTi has been tested and reported to work with the DSi XL console released in March 2010.
R4i, R4i Gold Cards
The firmware for the various brand and language versions can be readily patched to work on other language or brand versions of the hardware.
The original R4 card was replaced in late 2007 by the "R4 version 2" or "R4v2". This new version removed the need for a spring mechanism to insert a Micro-SD card. Instead, it simply had a slot in the back where a user could manually slot a Micro-SD card in. This eliminated the problems of the original R4 Revolution DS Card where the spring mechanism reportedly malfunctioned after prolonged use.
Unlike newer cards, the R4 cannot read SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) cards due to hardware limitations, although certain clones add this functionality. There exist several clones of the R4 card that are capable of using SDHC cards, but some studies have suggested that certain types of these cards have high failure rates. One clone, named the "R4 SDHC", is reported to be reliable. R4DS is now known to be outdated, as many other flash carts are known to be
better and cheaper (Acekard 2, M3 Real Super card One, and Edge), and a genuine R4DS is hard to find.
The R4 DSi XL and R4i Gold have been tested and reported to work with the DSi XL console released in May 2010.

Sony announces the plan of high-speed Memory Stick
The company's latest Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo HX memory cards promise an impressive data transfer rate of 30MB/s, the fastest yet available in a Sony-branded memory card - performance which matches the current market leading speeds available from top-end SD Memory cards.
Designed for use in Sony's high-end range of devices - including the newly-announced NEX 3 and 5 mirrorless bridge cameras, which feature both Memory Stick and SD Memory card slots, and the company's secretive HD AVCHD camcorder - the company promises that users will feel the benefit of the increased transfer rates immediately.
As an example, Sony offered the calculation that a user with an Alpha-series digital SLR camera and one of the new Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo HX high-speed cards could capture 260 high-resolution JPEG images in a single minute - an improvement of 160 percent over the existing high-end Memory Stick storage cards. Users of the company's video cameras can enjoy similar performance boosts, with the company claiming the new cards will allow users to download video footage in a mere quarter of the time.
While UK availability hasn't been announced, Sony hopes to get the cards out in the US this summer in sizes ranging from 8GB to 32GB.

How many capacity of memory card you can choose?
We can remember not that many years ago when a SDHC card was only a few megabytes and that was a lot of space. Today SDHC cards can store many, many times that amount of data. The new SDHC format promises even more storage in the same size constraints. It is announced that it will be launching a new SDHC card at Computes that has 64GB of storage space. The new card supports the SD3.0 interface and is backwards compatible with SD2.0.
The memory card promises a read speed of up to 30MB/s. The card can store 130K high-resolution photos and 100 HD movies. The SDHC format supports up to 2TB of storage.
Between the 8GB memory card and 2GB memory card, one is of high capacity and more storage, while the other is less data storage.Which will you choose? Which will attract you? Which will satisfy you? Or do you want to be a fashion follower? The answer is clear and absolute.
So, just follow your own ideas!

Heart group backs video games in obesity campaign
The surprising partnership, announced Monday, comes amid growing concern about obesity among kids who spend much of their time watching television and playing video games.
Nintendo will be able to brand its Wii products with the AHA's iconic heart logo to let consumers know that the organization considers the items a healthy choice. Nintendo will donate $1.5 million to the AHA as part of the partnership.
"We can keep beating the drum on traditional exercise and make small changes to the obesity epidemic, or we can try something that is really provocative and new,'' Clyde Yancy, the AHA's president, said in an interview.
Numerous studies show a correlation between obesity and the amount of time children spend with television and video games. Jeffrey Levi, executive director of Trust for America's Health, said the best solution is simply to cut the cord and encourage youths to spend less time in front of screens.
But the AHA said it is endorsing the Wii because it will encourage sedentary Americans to take the first step toward fitness. With 70 percent of Americans doing no regular physical activity at all, the AHA wants to find a way to reach out to people turned off by gyms and traditional sports. The organization said its studies show that 40 percent of those who don't exercise say that it's not entertaining enough. The AHA says the Wii addresses the fun factor.

New About Nintendo's New Wii Remote

Over the past few weeks, a new version of Nintendo's Wii Remote Controller was tested and ruled totally compliant by the FCC. What has changed about the device that gives the Wii its waggle?
Well, the model number has changed from RVL-003 to RVL-036, but thanks to the confidentiality letter request from the applicant, Hon Hai Precision—which may be better known as Foxconn—we'll have to speculate for now. The wireframe image doesn't tell us much other than "Hey, that's a Wii Remote!" but speculation that this may be a Wii Remote with the MotionPlus add-on built-in sounds about right.
Update: Commenter n_gamer notes that the drawing appears slightly different that the current remote, with a new seam at the base of the controller.
We're just a few weeks away from E3, so the timing feels right. Nintendo introduced the Wii MotionPlus accessory at the show two years prior, right around the time developers said they were thinking about ways to integrate the device into the standard Wii Remote. That's something third-party controller makers have already figured out.
Nintendo also plans on showing the new Legend of Zelda game for the Wii at E3, which may very well require the use of Wii MotionPlus to play. Nintendo recently launched a new Wii bundle that includes Wii MotionPlus and Wii Sports Resort, perhaps signaling more aggressive support for the accessory.
So. Wii Remote with Wii MotionPlus standard? Sound right to you?

Next-gen Wii remote And Wii Sports Resort that Nintendo Wii will ship now
Under fire from Microsoft's forthcoming Project Natal and the Sony PlayStation Move – and facing sinking sales of its once unbeatable console – Nintendo today announced it would revamp the Wii system package to include the Wii Sports Resort game and the next-gen Wii MotionPlus controller. The Nintendo Wii will still sell for $199.99, but will now be available in two colors – plain, old Nintendo white or a sleek, reflective black gloss.
The color thing, obviously, is a cosmetic flourish; it's relatively meaningless as these things go. But Wii Sports Resort is a great game, and a good incentive for first-time gamers. More important is the inclusion of the top-notch Wii MotionPlus, which picks up a range of motion – including rotation – undetected by the first iteration of the Wii Remote Controller. (For fans of golfing games, the MotionPlus is a must-have.)
"Now more than ever, consumers can count on Nintendo to deliver inclusive fun and advanced motion controls at a mass-market price," Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime said in a statement announcing the new Nintendo Wii system, which will be available on May 9. Note the nod to the price: The Wii has long thrived by appealing to so-called "casual" gamers, who steer clear of expensive consoles such as the Sony PlayStation 3.
But Nintendo's grip on the casual gaming market could loosen in coming months, as both Sony and Microsoft introduce motion-sensing systems designed to undercut the Wii. In the fall, for instance, Sony will introduce the PlayStation Move, a $100 motion-sensing add-on for the PlayStation 3.
The PlayStation may move to grab a wide range of wii fans. The migration path from the Wii household to the PlayStation 3 household is a pretty natural path, partly because of the experience that you can get on the PlayStation Move but also because of the content that we find on PlayStation 3.

Cloud control: first impressions of 'Super Mario Galaxy 2'

After leaping in the air, I shake the wii remote controller to create a cloud under Mario's feet and make it across safely.
The cloud suit is one of many new wrinkles appearing in the Nintendo Wii action game Super Mario Galaxy 2, slated for release May 23. Representatives from Nintendo visited Game Hunters to give us a closer look at Mario's latest adventure.
Most of players' activity will kick off on Starship Mario, a headquarters of sorts shaped like the plumber's head. Mario can choose which galaxies to explore and training areas to practice his new moves.
One of the galaxies I visited was the Tall Trunk Galaxy, filled with a series of enormous trees. When Mario first arrives, he spots a nearby egg housing companion Yoshi, who will help him navigate the massive structures.
Yoshi can eat enemies to quickly take them out, or grab items with his tongue to add special powers. To climb one tree, Yoshi ate a Floatings Blimp Fruit, turning him into a floating blimp. Players must keep track of how much air Yoshi has left and either prepare a landing or find more fruit to devour. And as mentioned in a previous preview , Yoshi can eat Dash Peppers to speed up and down trunks.
Mario also gets some fresh outfits, including the cloud suit. While jumping, players shake the Wii remote controller and create a cloud under their feet. If Mario falls in water, he loses the suit.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 also updates its Co-Star mode, a feature where a second player can grab a Wii remote and assist Mario. Players can now knock out smaller foes and grab coins and other bonus items. The game also takes additional steps to entice novice video game players. If a section proves too intimidating or challenging, players can opt to let the game navigate the section for you. Players can choose to join in at any time if they prefer. However, players only end up with bronze stars as opposed to higher gold reward.
Based on my brief time, Galaxy 2 feels as fun as any Mario title. The environments are fun to explore, and the gameplay is quite simple to pick up. We'll have more on the game when it arrives May 23.

Seniors Can Also Play Video Games
You can play some of the greatest games ever written, including Sid Meier's Civilization, Will Wright's Sim City, and Sports Interactive's Football Manager. All of these are challenging, none requires high-speed twitching, and you can play them for a long time by pausing/restarting or saving/reloading the current game.
The latest releases are not free, but older versions are still playable and widely available in cut-price versions or second hand.
Other games from the same stables are also worth a look, including Sid Meier's Railroad Tycoon games and, from the Sim series, SimTower.
If you like puzzle games, try PopCap for Peggle*, BeJewelled and Plants vs Zombies (there are online versions and free-trial downloads) or look around at Pogo.com, where plenty of seniors play. Also, AOL, Microsoft MSN and Yahoo all have big collections of casual games.
Not many games have been written specifically for seniors, but that started to change in 2005 when the first Brain Training game was launched in Japan for the Nintendo DS. I'm convinced they work, and playing this type of game could have benefits (see Study: Computer games, memory training for seniors can save billions in Medicare). The Masters of Healthcare website has published a list of 100 Awesome Anti-Aging Brain Games (Online and Off). And the video game accessories of Nintendo DS are so cheap.
Nintendo’s video games give some games that adapt to the seniors. Because some Nintendo DS games depend almost entiely on skill, and almost every game is winnable. And the cost of video game accessories is so little.

Video game sales drop in April at US
Sales of video game accessories hardware and software fell to 766.2 million dollars in April from 1.03 billion dollars in the same month a year ago, NPD said late Thursday.
Hardware sales plunged 37 percent to 249.3 million dollars while software sales dropped 22 percent to 398.5 million dollars. Sales of video game accessories were down nine percent at 118.4 million dollars.
The handheld Nintendo DS was the top-selling game console for the month on sales of more than 440,800 units, less than half the number sold a year ago.
"Even with the decline, the DS was the best-selling hardware system for the month," said NPD analyst Anita Frazier. "The DS is approaching (Sony's) PS2 as the best-selling hardware system of all time."
The Nintendo Wii was next on sales of 277,200 units followed by Microsoft's Xbox 360 (185,400), Sony's Playstation 3 (180,800 units) and Sony's PSP (65,500).
Ubisoft's "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell" was the top-selling game for the month on sales of 486,100 units but sales for the month were weak overall in the absence of any other blockbuster new releases.
Three Nintendo titles were next: "Pokemon Soulsilver Version" (242,900), "New Super Mario Bros" (200,300) and "Pokemon Heartgold Version" (192,600).
Sony's PSP title "God of War III" sold 180,300 units.
Frazier said April's drop in sales was the worst since July 2009 and the fourth-largest ever in percentage terms.
"Some of the decline is explained by the shift of Easter timing," she said, noting that Easter shopping occurred in March this year instead of April.
Although the sales of video game accessories drop in April, but I think the future of video game accessories will be better. The number of people playing video game is larger, the markert is good.
