Setting Up The Ultimate Gaming Party

The ultimate gaming party is not the easiest thing in the world to pull off because there are lots of little things that are needed. If you do not pay attention to details, you will quickly find that your ultimate gaming party is a complete failure. To have the best gaming party, there must be consideration given for all people in attendance. Here are some guidelines that will help you to throw the ultimate gaming party for all your gaming friends.

1. The first thing you need to do is to find out exactly how many people are going to attend the gaming party. This information will be the primary driver behind your party decisions, and moving forward is impossible without it. Nail down who is coming, and do not add to it.

2. Once you have the number of people coming, then you need to figure out what type of gaming party you will have. Are you going to have a video game tournament? Are you going to do multiple games? Are you going to have a free for all computer game playdate? Figure this out and it will help you to set up the ultimate gaming party easier.

3. Now that you have the number of people and the theme, get to work on setting up the playing stations. You should have one game system for each group of four people attending at a minimum. This will keep everyone's wait times to play to a minimum, and keep the action rolling along nicely. If you do not have enough video games, then borrow from those folks that are coming. If not that, then look into rentals. They are available fairly cheaply and often folks will pitch in.

4. At each gaming station, you will need the system and two seats. Also, you will want to have a place for snacks and drinks to be while they are playing. The last thing you need is a Coke spilled on your brand new PS3. Ban drinks and food while they are playing, but make sure that those waiting have a place to snack.

5. Another great addition to the ultimate gaming party is headphones for those guys and gals that are playing. All the background noise can distract a serious gamer, and the headphones are a nice touch. For those that want them, they will be appreciated.

6. Finally, consider playing on a timer rather than completion of the game. Unless you are playing a game like Madden or something, the time can become an issue for people waiting. Set up a specific amount of time to play, and then switch players. Make sure all know the rules before starting. If this is not something they want to do, then consider playing a tandem game. For example, switch after each level is completed.

The ultimate gaming party is really about the games and not the snacks, drinks, and so on. If the gaming is hot and there are plenty of gaming stations, then the rest will fall into place. If you have to choose between extra gaming stations and food and drink, go with the games.
