Fyygame Review: TV Superstars part 3

There are some other problems with the game other than how it plays, this is namely the use of some of the most annoying voice-over this side of squeaky pre-teen actors. These voice-over scripts seem to have been created for the sole purpose to infuriate you. Not only are the characters so much of the stereotype ( something I’m sure was meant to be funny) that it goes beyond laughter and just makes you sad that people are so narrow thinking these days. You have pretty much every stereotype in the world featured, there is the overly homosexual fashion presenter and the hyper-active female presenter, who looks like she is about to explore into a shower of fuzz at a moment’s notice. It just annoys.

Also something that you need to wonder about as this game is from a Sony studio, is that it takes a very long time to load the game and equally as long to switch from game mode to main menu and vice versa. It really can’t be the graphics making this load mind-numbingly long as they really don’t do the system justice compared to some of the detail we have seen even from other Move games.

In addition, there is something that was featured in Buzz: Ultimate Music Quiz, which is a face maker that allows you to input your face on to your character and give them different expressions (happy and sad/hulking-out is the extent). Which is a nice idea, but it just needs more work to make it look and work better. You can also add a catchphrase for your avatar to use when your announced, which needless to say gets some funny results.

There is very little that makes you really like TV Superstars and that statement makes me very sad. The idea could have been really good and offered something different to games like Start the Party. But it just offers what seems to be general Wii like party games recycled a bit and given a good HD paint. Move doesn’t need mindless games like this to get it started, it needs well thought-out games that will cement the device into the world of PlayStation gaming.
