Xbox 360 has secured six of the top ten console game titles this October including the top four titles overall which are NBA 2K11, Fallout: New Vegas, Medal of Honor and Fable III. And through this, it reached the crest of unit sales number of gaming consoles considering year-to-date. Consumer market research site NPD has made this announcement before the market enters the holiday season.
Supporting this, Microsoft has said that, it sold 325,000 of its most treasured gaming console in 2010, which is a 30% increase compared to 2009. And the grabbing of the top four titles overall, which was a golden-apple-that-cannot-be-achieved for any individual gaming console until recently, is not the only thrust for this huge take off. The line of Kinect-integrated units, which are Xbox 360 with motion sensor game controller, also added fuel to the momentum through its one million sales individually worldwide, till date.
Microsoft has casted another card from its sleeves with the launch of the latest member of the legendary Call of Duty series, Call of Duty: Black Ops. As Call of Duty versions have always thrilled a huge number of gamers with Xbox 360, it can be easily assumed that this new version too will give the Xbox sales a rocket-boost.
All these factors are ensuring that, Microsoft can comfortably achieve its sales target of five million units in gaming console division this year, which will not only break all previous records, but also make its Xbox 360 2010’s best-selling gaming console in the US.
