Cool Things to Do With a Nintendo DS Lite

The Nintendo DS Lite features a number of best-selling games such as "Mario Kart DS," "Pokemon" titles and "Nintendogs." While most players use the hand-held system primarily to enjoy games, the DS Lite also offers other functions, from wireless Internet chatting to keeping track of time. Most functions of the system can be accessed from the opening menu screen.

Play Games
The DS Lite not only plays cartridges made for the DS, but also plays games manufactured for the Game Boy Advance. In fact, you can insert one of each type of cartridge into the DS at the same time for when you are on the go and want multiple gaming options. To insert a Game Boy Advance, you must remove the cover from Slot 2 first.

Chat With Friends
You can send and receive wireless messages with up to 15 other DS Lite users as long as they are within range of you (about 65 feet). Select the "PictoChat" option from the DS menu screen and pick a chat room from the listing that appears. Use the stylus and keyboard to type out messages or draw pictures to communicate with friends.

Personal Organizer

While the functions are somewhat limited, the Nintendo DS has some of the features of an organizer. You can keep track of the date and time from the menu screen and input important dates such as your birthday. Access the system's functions by tapping the small icon on the bottom of the lower screen.
