Stomp and smash your way through mobile battle stations to destroy them from the inside out in this 13th installment of the Armored Core franchise. As a mercenary pilot of a giant mech, you must locate and eliminate a total of ten battle stations to save the galaxy from rival factions. Online cooperative play is supported for 30+ missions, while up to eight players can battle each other on over 80 maps spanning multiple terrain types. As with previous games in the futuristic series, Armored Core lets you customize your mech's weapons and armor from a pool of 400 parts. Choose from two control configurations before engaging in day or night battles in fully destructible environments.

These rolling instruments of destruction are new to the series and easily the biggest draw in For Answer. Doing battle with them is intense and satisfying, particularly in the more challenging encounters, such as that with the Spirit of Motherwill. In this battle, you and your mech take down a series of cannons while avoiding the wrath of missiles and other bots, and generally wreak havoc. It's rough, mind you: Depending on the arsenal you equip your bot with, you could find yourself out of ammo if you don't conserve properly, and dodging the constant barrage of cannon fire isn't easy. But destroying the fort is immensely rewarding, and while not all of these battles are as exciting as this one, they're all fun and (usually) challenging without being cheap. Even better, you can ramp up the thrills by adding a buddy to the mix.

this game to have all of the customization, fast-paced battle, and some really good missions that I've come to expect. Some missions are really short which makes action feel choppy sometimes, but others are so action packed I had to replay them. The graphics are beautiful in general. Water splashes nicely, your leave trails in the sand, missiles look good whizzing through the air. Overall, it's a good game for action fans. I think you can enjoy the game thoroughly without being a mech-nerd when it comes to fine-tuning your parts. That kind of thing is more for the hardcore fans and not needed to enjoy the game, especially for a rental. In the end, this is the same old Armored Core most people love or hate, nothing too innovative or new to mention for your average gamer.
